Île de la Cité
2hrs 1-20 visitors 240-420€
The heart of the city from which Paris has gradually grown, the Ile de la Cité was the center of religious and political authority during the Middle Ages, with the Royal Palace on one end of the island, and Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral on the other. It is therefore of high cultural value to the French, as exemplified by the exceptionally vast renovation works immediately undertaken at Notre-Dame after the fire of 2019.
This natural island is also a delightful neighborhood with its views over the Seine river and the city beyond, and its lovely little squares, gardens and flower market.
